AT the early age of 7, Pat’s
father taught him to play blues harp. Around the same time, Pat’s dad taught him
the art of portrait sketching.
By the age of 10, Pat was an accomplished guitarist and portrait
artist using only a number 2 pencil and paper, putting most of his attention on
his unique style of detailed (finger) shading.
Pat started
performing in front of live audiences early on and at the age of 11 Pat’s dad
bought him a 1962 classic bar room Fender Strat electric guitar out of a San
Bernardino Roadhouse bar where he and Jess Nicks, (Stevie’s dad) distributed
beer, rebuilt regulators and hustled pool.
Pat’s current
sketch series of some of the artists that he has performed with and have
recorded his songs through the years, documents 28 years of writing and
producing music for Hall of Fame artists and film.
These sketches
are a tribute to all of the special and talented partners that have supported
Pat throughout his career as a songwriter, performer and producer.
He hopes his
sketches treat them with the respect that they have all earned and deserve.
